Sunshine Blogger Award!!

Hey guys! You won’t believe this, but I got nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award! Since my site is extremely new this is very exciting! I was nominated by the awesome Faerie Queene over at HannieBee Games, go check their site out! The rules for the Sunshine Blogger Awards are as followed:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer their questions.
  • Nominate 11 bloggers and write 11 new questions.

I am going to start off by giving a huge thanks to Faerie Queene for nominating me! She writes great content and it’s definitely worth the read! Now, let’s get on with all the questions!

1. What Twitch streamers do you enjoy watching?

This is a pretty easy one for me. I watch way more YouTube than I do Twitch. So of course when my favorite YouTuber, UberHaxorNova, streams I love to watch that. I also will occasionally watch Dr. DisRespect from time to time.

2. Do you prefer retro or modern gaming?

I do respect retro gaming, as without it the creation of modern gaming would have never happened. A gradual increase of technology has created a world where we can escape from reality and delve into a new world. That is kind of how I view modern gaming. But there are some great retro games for sure. All the original Mario games I can play all day without getting bored!

3. Do you prefer AAA or indie game releases?

Man, this is a tough one. I value all games, and give respect to all game creators who put the time in on a project. Whether triple A, or indie the games created can be works of art or just pure fun. But if I where to choose it would all depend on my mood. If I want to relax and zone out I boot up Binding Of Issac and just play for hours. But if I want to get serious and competitive, load up Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. All just depends!

4.  What is a hidden gem game that you don’t think anyone has played, but deserves more attention?

Wrongworld, I wrote a whole article talking about why I love it. It is made by a single developer and he puts so much love and time into this game. Plus it is just pure fun and chaos!

5. What game was responsible for your last “game hangover”, where you just couldn’t bring yourself to start a new game after finishing something?

The Last time I had this happen was probably Fallout 4 when I beat it for a fourth time a couple of months ago.

6. Which video game series needs to quit while they’re ahead and stop making new games?

The Assassin’s Creed series to me needs to just stop while they are ahead. Even though after this year Ubisoft is taking a break from the franchise, they should just retire the series. Although the newest games have been great fun, the formula has been getting tiring. The games prior to Odyssey were mediocre and almost ran the series to the ground. I fear that they will eventually do this again.

7. What game have you put the most hours into across your lifetime?

Definitely Minecraft without a doubt. That game came out when I was 11 or 12 and that is all I did back then. Kind of similar to how today’s kids talk about nothing but Fortnite and do all the dances and what not. My friends and I just played Minecraft every single day. I have bought it on several platforms as well including: PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Android. Even today, sometimes I will boot up some Minecraft just to relax and build. Even though my desire to play it has faded away, my love for it will always remain. I also can never get back the thousands of hours I have spent playing it as well.

8. What is your game of the year so far?

I am not going to lie, but 2018 has been a crazy year for me. I have moved crossed the country and have not had the time to go out and buy a new video game! I know, how dare I! All I have been able to play is the hundreds of games across my PC, Xbox, PS4 Pro, and Switch that I already have. I guess I will nominate my favorite game right now, until Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out of course. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Binding Of Issac, and Fortnite have been my general rotation of games that last couple of months. Unfortunately with me studying Web Development, I do not get that much time to dedicate to long games. So games where I can play a quick couple of matches and have fun have been my go to’s as of lately.

9. What game have you had polarizing feelings toward, feeling both extreme hate and love for, depending on the moment?

That is probably Fortnite for me. Sometimes I absolutely love it, and then a split second later I am yelling at it because me and my buddies got wiped out. This also shifts frequently because I feel like everyone has good days and bad days when it comes to their favorite games. Sometimes I can hop on and win my first game and then other days I am struggling to get a kill!

10. Which year in gaming history is your favorite in terms of game releases?

In recent years my favorite year has to be 2015. So many games that I was hyped for came out that year including: Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Just Cause 3, Bloodborne,  The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, and many more!

11. If you could go back in time and convince a developer to change one major feature of their game in order to make it better, what game and feature would you change?

I wish Notch, when he was developing Minecraft, took on the ideas of what Edmund McMillen does with The Binding Of Issac. In the final DLC for the game, Edmund has partnered up with modders to make an official expansion for the game. There is such a great and dedicated community for Minecraft that makes amazing and game changing mods. Mods that have features that should just automatically be in the game. But I guess you can just mod the crap out of your game!

Now I am supposed to nominate 11 other bloggers, but I have only been on this platform for three weeks. So my knowledge base of bloggers is very minimal. Technically, I could just find 11 random bloggers that I don’t actually read and nominate them, but I feel like that is lying in a way and not really fair to those bloggers. So I am just going to nominate someone who I know has already been nominated SEVERAL times but I truly enjoy his content and is honestly worth the read. I won’t write out the questions for this individual because he has already done a long post on the subject of the Sunshine blogger award’s he has recived.

This individual is none other than IPlayedTheGame! This guy is honestly awesome and writes engaging content that brings a unique perspective. Please take the time to go check him out! And if you want to read his answers for the other Sunshine Blogger Awards here is a link to his article: The I Played The Game Award Spectacular!

Once again thank you for the nomination and I hope you guys enjoyed the article!

  1. Minecraft is probably my most played game, as well. I actually just wrote an entire post about my experiences with the game. The main server I play on claims I’ve logged about 4.5 months on it, not including any time I’ve spent extensively tinkering with creative mode to decide how to build something on that server.
