Xbox is Planning To Change the Gaming Market
Let’s admit it, gaming can be an expensive hobby. Especially if you are just starting out. Not everyone has the ability to go out and drop $500 for a system, and that does not even include any games! But Microsoft is planning to change this. The ‘Xbox All Access’ subscription service was unveiled and it is for those who want to get into gaming without dropping all the money at once.
This subscription service has two different bundles depending on which price you are willing to pay. The first bundle includes the Xbox One X, a year of Xbox Live Gold, and the Xbox Game Pass all for $35/month over a 24 month period. The second one includes the Xbox One S, a year of Xbox Live Gold, and the Xbox Game Pass all for $22/month over a 24 month period. This seems like a great deal over all considering the Xbox One X bundle cost $500, Xbox Live Gold is $60 for a year, and the Xbox Game Pass is $9.99/month. This subscription service will come in just a little bit cheaper than going out and buying everything out right over the 24 month period. And after the 24 month period, you get to keep everything!
When this subscriptions service is planned to roll out is unknown, but it is only launching in the United States at first. If it is successful than they may launch internationally. It is planned to be available in Microsoft retail stores and possibly in other retail stores(Ex. GameStop). It has not been officially announced from Microsoft, but plan for it to be soon. In the heat of the console wars, Microsoft needs to do something if they wish to pull ahead. This will allow those who are in a neutral zone of the console wars to possibly jump to the Xbox side. Time will only tell and it will be interesting to see how Sony responds to this when it is officially announced. Be sure to comment what you think of this new service!
Update: It has been officially announced by Microsoft!
