Red Dead Redemption 2 Confirmed Weapons So Far…

The latest trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 has left us all with a desire to fall asleep and wake up the morning of October 26th. This game play trailer has given us a glimpse of what the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be like. And as we all get lost in this beautiful open world, we will needed to be well armed. So it is important to take a look at all the amazing weapons confirmed so far for Red Dead Redemption 2!

Non-Firearm Weapons

The lasso is a returning weapon that has been confirmed for Red Dead Redemption 2. This versatile ‘weapon’ has many applications depending on the circumstance. Need to tame a new steed to traverse the wild? Good ol’ lasso for the win. Or you could just use it to hogtie a bounty or some unfortunate soul who you plan to place on the railroad tracks. The choice is yours!

Here we see Arthur Morgan trying to tame a need steed!

Of course this one is obvious, but from the trailers it seems hand to hand combat has been vastly improved! You can now tackle, counter, and even disarm enemies. Hopefully the next trailer will dive deeper into this combat system.

Here we can see Arthur choking someone against a wall.

Another confirmed and returning weapon is the knife. Used for skinning animals to poking some poor fellow that rubbed you the wrong way. This weapon will be strapped to your hip at all times.
Here we see the knife strapped right next to your holster!

Stick of Dynamite

Who doesn’t love a good stick of dynamite? Light, Throw, BOOM(hopefully in this order)! This weapons can be used for many purposes. It was used in the game play trailer to get Arthur out of jail. Time will tell what else we can use it for.
Cool guys don’t look at explosions…

Bow and Arrow

One of the most exciting announcements for Red Dead Redemption 2 was the inclusion of the much requested bow and arrow! This weapon will be great to use for a silent take down of not only animals but enemies. With Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has completely changed the hunting and selling of animals. When you kill an animal, you will have to saddle it on to your horse and take it back either to your camp or the store. Stores will pay more for the animal if it was killed cleaner(gunshots will lower the value). Will be very interesting to see if stealth options are actually viable in Red Dead Redemption 2!

Pistols and Revolvers

Colt 1873 Single Action Army Revolver

This is a famous weapon, also known as a Colt .45 or simply referred as a Single Action Army.

Colt M1892

The M1892 Colt Army & Navy was the first general issue double-action revolver with a swing-out cylinder used by the U.S Military(Wikipedia). It is a smaller revolver and will probably act as a start revolver for us when we begin our journey.

Here we can see Arthur firing the M1892.

Smith & Wesson Schofield Model 3

Another famous revolver from Smith & Wesson. This weapon is also a .45 Caliber.
Here is a image of Dutch dual wielding some beautiful Schofields.

Colt New Army & Navy

A returning weapon from the previous game. This weapon was one of the first commercial-successes of larger-caliber swing-out cylinder revolver in the United States. This weapon can be unlocked early by completing a series of missions in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Rifles and Repeaters

Spencer Repeating Rifle

This was the world’s first military repeating rifle and was actually produced over 200,000 times between 1860 and 1869. This gun is returning from the first game, but if you recall from RDR1 it wasn’t to powerful to begin with. Even if it is not great in combat it will do the job for hunting for sure!

Henry Repeater

I highly iconic weapon also known as the ‘Golden Boy” due to its easily recognizable golden plating.

This is a bolt action rifle, and if RDR1 taught us anything its that bolt actions are very powerful. These things would one shot kill anyone no matter where they were shot.

Here we can see the rifle being cocked to fire again.

Double Barrel Shotgun

Probably one of the most recognizable shotguns there is, it is returning to Red Dead Redemption 2. Of course, the double barrel is a shotgun with two barrels allowing two quick and consecutive shots to be fired before reloading. But those two shots will devastate anything within a close range!

Here we see Arthur wielding the double barrel.

Pump Action Shotgun

Another returning weapon, the pump action shotgun. We got to see a glimpse of this beast in the game play trailer. Excited to see the power of this thing in game!

Hopefully the next trailer will show even more weapons and give us some more insight as into the physics system of Red Dead Redemption 2. If you guys enjoyed please feel free to leave a comment!
